The Mountain of 7 Colors, also known as Vinicunca Mountain or Rainbow Mountain, is an attraction located in the Andes Mountains in Peru. Situated at over 4800 meters above sea level, it is located between the districts of Pitumarca and Cusipata. To reach there, approximately 3 hours of bus travel are required. Rainbow Mountain Tour Route
1st - 04:00 am Pick-Up from Your Lodgings
We will pick you up from the establishment where you are staying as long as it is located in the historic center.
2nd - 04:10 am Transfer from Cusco to Cusipata
We will travel towards Cusipata, approximately 2.5 hours, where we will have a buffet breakfast.
3rd - 06:30 am Arrival in Cusipata for Breakfast
We will have a breakfast with plenty of options (vegetarian and vegan options available).
4th - 08:00 am Arrival in Village of Chilliwani (Llaqto Cancha) where the hike will begin (4600 meters above sea level).
From the village of Chilliwani, we will begin our hike towards the mountain (approximately 1 hour and a half), ascending to an altitude of approximately 5000 meters above sea level.
5th - 9:30 am (approx.) Arrival at Rainbow Mountain
We will visit the mountain and capture the best photographic views, with the option to climb to the viewpoint (over 5000 meters above sea level).
6th - Return to Llaqto and Cusipata
We will return by the same trail (approximately one hour downhill), then we will take our transportation to return to the town of Cusipata.
7th - Lunch in Cusipata (optional)
We will enjoy a buffet lunch (vegetarian and vegan options available) in the town of Cusipata.
8th - 3:00 PM (approx.) Return to Cusco from Cusipata
We will return to Cusco in an approximate 2-hour journey, concluding at your hotel.
9th - 05:30 pm Return to Lodgings in Cusco
