Details
1st - meeting point
We can arrange to pick you up from your hotel, as long as it is located near the historic center of the city of Cusco. Alternatively, you can meet your guide at the Cusco Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
2nd - The Qoricancha
We will visit Qoricancha (Incan Temple of the Sun), which was the most spiritually significant temple for the Incas. It is known to have been covered with gold, silver and other precious metals.
3rd - Sacsayhuamán Archeological Site
Next, we will visit the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán to see the megalithic walls with stones weighing more than 80 tons. You’ll have the chance to see the foundations of the most famous tower, and we will visit one of the most beautiful viewpoints found within this archaeological site. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take the best photos with a breathtaking view of the city.
4TH - QENQO (LABYRINTH)
This Incan construction is made of limestone and is known to have been a religious and astronomical place. It is most famous because the mummification of the Incan rulers was practiced here.
5TH - PUCA PUCARÁ (RED FORTRESS)
Our next stop will be the red fortress, so named because of the striking red color of the stones. In the time of the Incas, this was a strategic control point for access to the historic city of Cusco.
6TH - TAMBOMACHAY
Tambomachay was the water cult temple and also served as a resting place for the Incan governor. Here, the Andean duality is also observed. This is our final stop, and we will end the tour at approximately 6:00 pm.
7th - Finishing the Tour
The tour concludes at a location near the Cusco Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
